The trail begins at Green Horn shelter near the campground registration gatehouse. A return trip of two miles follows Skinner Creek back to the west end of the horsemens camp. A five-mile ride over terrain leads to Weed Patch Hill site of the state park fire tower. The owner was great and always quick to respond to any questions we had about the area or the campground. Located in the Southern Lake loop 21 KM from Jakes Corner. While this might sound like a big park- it really is not.

We had to go extremely slow and even on the motorcycle the road was not fun to ride on. It is small only 4 sites plus an Airstream available to rent on the 5th site and there are no restrooms or showers. Six Mile Lake Campground is located at 5016 6 Mile Lake Road East Jordan MI 49727.
